back at the blog!

I cannot believe that I have stayed away from my blog for a year! Many, many things have happened since I last wrote here, so I'm sure it'll take a while to share about our life and family. For now, the big important things that have happened are (in chronological order, lol);
 
My hubby and I have enteres the Salvation Army School for Officer Training (we'll get commissioned/grauate on June/2013), which means we are studying theology and being trained to become Officers/Christian ministers in the Salvation Army, a Christian church and organization (click here for more info http://www.use.salvationarmy.org/). More on that to come!
 
 
Our fun, talkative, funny, loving, energetic, clumsy, and beautiful daughter Julia is already 2!!! She is a tipical toddler, with an extra burst of energy. She loves to play dress up, to sing, and to HUG :] She is now potty trainned, and at night before bed asks us to pray for all her friends, family, and last night she included the kitty cat, the bunny and the lamp, yup, forgot to mentioned she is awesome with her imagination.
 
 
 
Julia is now a big sister!!! Yup, a month ago we fell in love with our sweet little Melissa. She was born December 19th, and she makes our family feel complete :]

Cali Love

Hello everybody!!! We are on vacation in California, enjoying some wonderful time with family and friends we love!
When we first got here we visited the Chan family, it was a sweet time together of much laugh and lot's of yumiiii foods! We also met Michael and Nelie's baby Rock! Julia had such a great time playing with him.
Right after we drove up to see my beautiful sister Teka! Julia had the sweetest time with her! She went right to Teka's arms and just snuggled for a couple of minutes, soooooo precious! Ohhh anI can't forget the surprise we had for Teka after weeks of practice! Julia looked at her auntie and said: "TETAAAAA"!
In Santa Barbara we met with our cousins Tovi, Becca and their baby Cruz. Becca and I along with our babies went for a morning at a park by the beach. We had a good and relaxing time! One of God's gifts to me...nice conversation, mommy talk and just chilling with our little ones.
Well...we have many adventures and good memories to share, but I'll save it for the next post! Thank you Cali fellows for all the LOVE you've given us :) Good night everybody!!!

You Become What You Think


Today's Bible Study at church talked about the decision of being positive about circumstances around you. Being positive does not come naturally, but being negative does! I liked the author's quote: (Wood, Cindi; The Frazzled Female)

"I realized that it was no easy thing to get rid of negative thinking. I frequently had to trash the negative thoughts. I can tell you this created plenty of room to store the positive ones. And if I didn't hurry and put the positive ones in the negative ones would rush back in to fill the space! Our minds cannot hold a void. Something has to be in there!"

What do you want your Something to be?! Well, I asked myself this question, and the answer is the Scriptures! The first verse that came to my mind was my blog's title verse found in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."


Matthew 12:34 says: "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Let's fill our hearts with true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable things :)

Blessing from The Lord

I know sometimes it could sound "too much" for some people, but when you have a precious life such as a child on your hands you can't do anything to help the overwhelming joy you feel inside your heart! So we talk about it, we facebook about it, we blog about it, we just want to share the God given blessing with those we love!


I thank God for many sisters-by-heart that walked or are walking in the same shoes I am because being a mama for the first time definitely brings some challenges and new adventures!

We just took Julia for her 6 month appointment, so here is some of her latest accomplishments:
-She is 14.1lb (6.395kg)
-27in long (68.58cm)
-2 bottom teeth
-some extra hair just behind the years - p e r f e c t for "pig tails"
-giggles, and uablusss
-winks
-eat cereal;
-eat bananas
-and only drinks mama's milk :), yes I'm breasfeeding since she was born;
-and just tonight she set by herself for the 1st time :)
Rafa and I are so proud of her, and it's really fun to get to know her little personality each day. We have many family members and friends overseas, so we hope this will give you a little bit of an idea of how our daughter is doing! Children are blessings from The Lord, and we are so thankful He chose us to be Julia's parents!!!
